1. Incorporate the new cross-channel branding (logo, colors, given in class) Here are some ideas and templates.
2. Remember not to delete any of the content posted by the previous team, but build on it to enhance what's working and analyze what's not.
3. Here's a good marketing overview of some of the strengths and weaknesses of Google+ from Social Media Examiner. It's also notable that some of the top Google+ pages are technology brands; how can you leverage that trend for your page? Here are some ideas from top Google+ pages. (Hint hint - perhaps consider some video content creation?)
4. Here's an article on the new "Communities" feature, also by Social Media Examiner. Is this something to explore further?
5. What tools can you use to start analyzing the page and tracking stats?
Feedback from last quarter's Google+ team:
What worked:
Hangouts were cool for group meetings. We used it instead of Skype and it gave us a good idea of what it was capable of.
What didn’t work:
After a good start, we settled into a routine of posting “here’s a link” content, and that didn’t work.
The lack of insights and metrics was disappointing. It would have been helpful to know how many people were looking at our content and where the traffic was coming from.
What you wanted to try:
Build out more circles and experiment with sharing targeted posts with different audience/circles. That is where Google+ really differentiates from Facebook, and we didn’t do much with it.
Google+ team members are:
Constance Brown
Tassoula Kokkoris
Eric Starker
Gitte-Lena Andersen
